We are learning about the people who help keep things going!
Kids love learning about bus drivers, police officers, lifeguards, teachers, mail carriers and so many others who keep our community running smoothly.
I absolutely love teaching about community helpers, and this book Family Heroes: Keeping Things Going and free coordinating mini book fit in perfectly with my unit.
I made a printable page in the mini book to match every page in this adorable book. It is fun to read since it rhymes and is simple for kids to understand.
After we read the book, I give children the mini book and they can go through the story and write information about each community helper using the information from the book.
Tip: staple the pages in your mini book in the same order they are shown in the book Family Heroes: Keeping Things Going.
