I am so excited to share our new September pocket chart centers.
When I was a first year teacher, managing centers was incredibly overwhelming for me.
Management, organization, directions, etc. can be very challenging with primary students.
I made these centers SO easy to implement, and children quickly learn the routine and expectations.
Each month, I use eight pocket chart centers - two each week that students rotate through. I store them in THESE containers, and the cards fit perfectly!
16 cases fit in each container, so one box holds two months of centers.
Did you see my BACK TO SCHOOL pocket chart centers?
I place the back to school and September bundles together in one box to make it so easy and organized.
All of these kits can be used to teach whole group, in small groups, intervention, RTI, or in your math and literacy centers.
I provide picture scaffolding and other support tools so students can be independent.
ACTIVITY #1 - APPLE ALPHABET MATCHING
I always include follow up worksheets or cut/paste activities to check for understanding and hold students accountable during center time.
This set works on so many skills!
We are learning that words have meaning, practicing sight words, learning left-to-right progression and September vocabulary words. I use this center whole group at first, and then it can be moved to an independent center.
Scaffolding is built in with two different sets of cards - with and without picture support.
Both English and Spanish versions are included!
I put the categories on the left hand side (for example: dog, airport, farm, city, grocery store, etc.)
Students place the picture vocabulary cards next to the correct category. It is so fun to watch them think!
ACTIVITY #4 - ORDERING NUMBERS
Using pocket chart activities will add so much to your daily routine.
One tip is to introduce the activities on the carpet during your calendar/circle time so students understand how the activity works.
Then, they can be moved to your independent work centers.
Accountability is incredibly important during center time.
These follow up activities correlate perfectly with the cards and hold students accountable for center time.
Included are worksheets in both English and Spanish.
SAVE WITH THE SEPTEMBER BUNDLE!
These activities can be used at any time during the year, but I plan to use them in September.
Each pocket chart kit is $1 individually, but you can get all 8 sets in the bundle for only $4!
GROWING YEAR LONG BUNDLE!
I love using these so much that I decided to create monthly pocket chart centers for the entire year!
10 months will be included to take you through the entire school year.
Each month will come with 8 individual pocket chart centers for a total of 80 centers (most will include Spanish versions too!)
Growing bundles are an incredible way to save on your favorite resources, but please note that not all files are available to download yet.
