Filling out their very own calendar each day gives students ownership of their learning and students stay on task and engaged.

There are so many ways you can implement these notebooks.
Some teachers prefer to have students only fill out the daily page shown below.
You can make copies for students so they can simply fill out a new page each day, or place on in a page protector for each student to use a dry erase marker.
You can use soft folders like these with one page protector. Place a daily calendar page inside and you’re set for the entire month.
Students write the number date on their calendar each day as well.
I provide a scaffolding chart that students can refer to so they know how to form each number.
After filling out the weather on their daily page, we color our weather graphs!
This can be done whole group if you display it on the wall, or each students can have their own graph to color in their binder.
In addition to daily calendar activities, at the beginning of each month we learn about the holidays coming up, who has a birthday and how many days this month has, etc.
You can display the charts on your wall, or each child can have their own. They come in both color and black and white.
We also keep a running chart of who loses a tooth each month!
This is such a fun way to practice writing and spelling our classmates names.
